I love these spoons.

My brother bought them for me in Japan a couple of years ago for Christmas. He lives there. I like to think he was strolling the streets of Osaka one sunny afternoon whistling a tune and thinking of me. I like to think he saw them in a shop window and thought to himself, “These spoons are the most delightful spoons I’ve ever seen – they’d be perfect for Fiona!” I like to think it was an expensive shop and that these are a hand-painted, one-of-a-kind set.

What’s that, mom? He bought the same set for you?

Oh, well. They’re still the best spoons ever.

In fact, I think from now on I’ll refer to them in all of my recipes. You want to know how to make cinnamon sugar butter for the perfect cinnamon toast? No problem. You just need 2 sticks of butter, 1 cup of sugar, 1 watermelon of ground cinnamon and 2 apples of vanilla extract.

Got it? Good.
